Charlie Day Hints at ‘Horrible Bosses 3’ as Jennifer Aniston Calls Comedy “a Necessity”

Fans of the cult comedy franchise may finally get another dose of wild workplace chaos, as Charlie Day and Jennifer Aniston open up about their eagerness for a sequel.

Washington DC [US], August 24:
Hollywood might just be gearing up for another round of outrageous workplace antics. Actor and writer Charlie Day, best known for his role in the hit dark comedy Horrible Bosses, has revealed that conversations have taken place about developing a sequel to the beloved franchise.

Speaking at the screening of his new film Honey Don’t!, Day, 49, admitted he would “absolutely be up” for a third installment. “I’ve had some conversations about it,” he shared, sparking excitement among fans who still hold a soft spot for the dysfunctional yet hilarious trio.

The original Horrible Bosses (2011) became a cult hit with audiences, featuring Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, and Jason Sudeikis as three desperate friends plotting against their overbearing employers, played by Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, and Colin Farrell. Adding to the chaos, Jamie Foxx starred as an eccentric ex-con who served as their unlikely mentor. The 2014 sequel, Horrible Bosses 2, expanded the cast with Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz, cementing the franchise as one of the most entertaining comedies of the last decade.

Jennifer Aniston, who memorably played the uninhibited dentist Dr. Julia Harris, echoed Day’s enthusiasm, stressing that audiences today are in dire need of laughter. “I personally think comedy is a necessity,” she said, adding that reuniting for Horrible Bosses 3 would be “a really fun time… seeing where those crazy cats are today.”

In a lighter moment, Aniston also reflected on her iconic brunette wig from the first film. “I fought for that wig. That was not an easy battle,” she revealed, recalling her clash with Warner Bros. executives. “The argument was, ‘we are afraid it won’t look like you.’ That’s kind of the point! I wanted my character to look different. I’m glad I stuck to my guns.”

Meanwhile, Aniston is set to return to television with the much-awaited Season 4 of Apple TV+’s Emmy-winning drama The Morning Show, premiering on September 17.

With both Day and Aniston teasing the possibility of another reunion, fans may soon get to see what outrageous chaos the Horrible Bosses gang could stir up in today’s modern workplace.
