November 10, 2024: The highly anticipated trailer for Freedom at Midnight, the upcoming streaming series based on the bestselling book by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, has just been released, and it offers a gripping preview of the tumultuous final days of British colonial rule in India.

The trailer opens with a historic moment: Clement Attlee, the British Prime Minister, declaring India’s independence, setting the stage for the political turbulence and emotional upheaval that would ensue. The series delves into the lives of key figures from India’s independence movement, such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, providing a vivid portrayal of their roles during this pivotal period in history.

A particularly intense sequence in the trailer focuses on Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mounting pressure for the creation of Pakistan, which ultimately led to the dramatic partition of the subcontinent. The cast also features Ira Dubey as Fatima Jinnah, Malishka Mendonsa as Sarojini Naidu, and Rajesh Kumar as Liaquat Ali Khan. Additionally, Luke McGibney plays Lord Louis Mountbatten, Cordelia Bugeja portrays Lady Edwina Mountbatten, and Andrew Cullum takes on the role of Clement Attlee.
