Despite weekday drop, the historical blockbuster maintains dominance with Rs 530.95 crore domestic haul
March 12, 2025: Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its stellar run at the box office, emerging as the first major blockbuster of 2025. While the film saw a drop in collections during the weekdays, it is expected to regain momentum during the Holi holiday period.
Chhaava’s Box Office Performance So Far
By the end of its third week, Chhaava had accumulated ₹84.05 crore at the domestic box office. A strong fourth weekend followed, with a 91% surge in collections:
- Saturday: ₹16.75 crore
- Sunday: ₹10.75 crore
However, weekday collections witnessed a decline:
- Monday: ₹6 crore (44% drop)
- Tuesday: ₹5.15 crore
With this, Chhaava’s domestic total now stands at ₹530.95 crore. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.84% and Telugu occupancy of 15.12% on Tuesday.
Chhaava’s Worldwide Collection & Upcoming Competition
On the global front, Chhaava had minted ₹700 crore by Monday and crossed ₹712.5 crore by Tuesday. The film has enjoyed an uninterrupted box office run with no major competition.
John Abraham’s The Diplomat is set to release on March 14, but early buzz suggests it may not significantly affect Chhaava’s dominance.

On Tuesday, Vicky Kaushal honored Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s Punyatithi, sharing a powerful still from the film with the caption:
