Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 34: Vicky Kaushal’s Film Nears ₹640 Crore Record Set by Jawan

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its dream run at the box office, earning ₹2.7 crore on Wednesday, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹570.65 crore.

March 20, 2025: Even in its fifth week—when most films witness a steep decline—Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava remains a box office juggernaut. The historical drama added ₹2.7 crore to its total on its fifth Wednesday, pushing its domestic earnings to ₹570.65 crore. The film’s worldwide collection now stands at a massive ₹767.25 crore, making it the highest-grossing film of 2025 so far.

Consistent Box Office Performance

Since its release, Chhaava has been dominating ticket sales. Here’s how its box office journey has unfolded:

  • Week 1: ₹219.25 crore
  • Week 2: ₹180.25 crore
  • Week 3: ₹84.05 crore
  • Week 4: ₹55.95 crore
  • Week 5 (So far): ₹20+ crore

Despite a natural decline in collections over time, the film still outperforms recent blockbusters in their fifth week. On Day 34, Chhaava outpaced Pushpa 2 (₹1.5 crore), Animal (₹54 lakh), and Pathaan (₹82 lakh) in terms of collections.

Controversy Surrounding Chhaava

The film found itself at the center of a political controversy when Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis suggested that Chhaava had incited public anger regarding Aurangzeb. However, fans of the film, along with industry insiders, defended it, asserting that its historical representation was handled responsibly.

Competition Ahead

Even as Chhaava continues to reign at the box office, it faces new competition. John Abraham’s The Diplomat, which was released a week ago, has accumulated ₹17.65 crore so far. However, Chhaava maintained a significant lead over it on Wednesday, earning ₹2.7 crore compared to The Diplomat’s ₹1.4 crore.

Looking ahead, Salman Khan’s Sikandar, set to release on March 30, could provide stiff competition, potentially affecting Chhaava’s run.

With just ₹70 crore left to surpass Jawan’s ₹640 crore record, the coming weeks will determine whether Chhaava can achieve this historic milestone.
