Although the film’s collections have witnessed a natural decline, Chhaava is still performing exceptionally well, solidifying its place as one of 2025’s biggest blockbusters. If the momentum continues, ₹500 crore at the domestic box office seems highly achievable.
Amidst its roaring success, Chhaava has faced backlash from descendants of Maratha warriors Ganoji and Kanhoji Shirke, who have threatened a ₹100 crore defamation lawsuit against director Laxman Utekar. Reports suggest Utekar has personally apologized for any unintentional misrepresentation.
