Chhaava Box Office Day 5: Vicky Kaushal's Epic Saga Nears ₹200 Crore, Set to Become 2025's First Bollywood Blockbuster
February 19, 2025: Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava is on a record-breaking spree, inching closer to becoming Bollywood’s first ₹200 crore film of 2025. After a spectacular opening weekend, the film has maintained a steady hold at the box office, drawing massive footfalls even on weekdays.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Chhaava earned ₹24.50 crore on Tuesday, slightly improving from Monday’s ₹24 crore collection. The film’s strong weekend momentum, with collections of ₹31 crore on Friday, ₹37 crore on Saturday, and a whopping ₹48.5 crore on Sunday, helped it accumulate ₹116 crore in just three days. With its latest earnings, the total box office collection of Chhaava now stands at ₹165 crore.

The film’s Hindi occupancy rate on February 18 was recorded at 32.52%, with a gradual rise from 18.19% during morning shows to 51.70% for night screenings.
In light of the film’s historical and cultural significance, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to declare Chhaava tax-free in the state. The request emphasized the importance of making the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj accessible to a larger audience.
“We appeal that the movie reaches a wider audience as the legacy and courage of this great Maratha king should be known to future generations. Our government strongly believes in ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah’, and this movie portrays exactly the same sentiments,” read the letter from FWICE.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Vineet Kumar, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles. With its current momentum, Chhaava is poised to surpass the ₹200 crore mark within days, solidifying its place as the first Bollywood blockbuster of 2025.
