Chhaava Box Office Day 8: Vicky Kaushal’s Film Crosses ₹300 Crore, Becomes 2025’s First Blockbuster
February 22, 2025: Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava has emerged as a box office juggernaut, becoming the first Indian film of 2025 to cross the ₹300 crore mark globally. The film has outperformed the combined net box office collection of all other Hindi films released this year, which stand at approximately ₹194 crore, signaling a much-needed revival for Bollywood.

According to Sacnilk, Chhaava’s India net collection reached ₹228.69 crore on its eighth day (Friday, February 21), contributing ₹9.44 crore across all languages. Despite a natural drop post its opening weekend, the film continues to dominate the box office, maintaining an impressive 35% weekday occupancy rate.
With its current pace, Chhaava is on track to become the first 2025 release to surpass ₹200 crore in India alone.
At a time when several big-ticket films have struggled, Chhaava has single-handedly reignited Bollywood’s box office momentum. The film is now among the top 10 highest ticket-selling films on BookMyShow, with over 5 million tickets sold.
With Chhaava’s phenomenal success, Vicky Kaushal is cementing his place as a bankable star. The film could become the biggest hit of his career, joining his list of major box office successes:
As Chhaava continues its dream run, industry analysts predict it could set new records for 2025, making it a landmark film in Kaushal’s career.
