Comparisons between Chhaava and Stree 2, 2024’s highest-grossing Hindi film, have intensified. Chhaava has been consistently outperforming Stree 2 in its fourth week, with stronger weekend collections:

  • Chhaava (Week 4) Earnings:
    • Saturday: ₹16.75 crore
    • Sunday: ₹10.75 crore
    • Monday: ₹6.25 crore
  • Stree 2 (Week 4) Earnings:
    • Saturday: ₹8.5 crore
    • Sunday: ₹11 crore
    • Monday: ₹3.25 crore

While Chhaava has the momentum to surpass Stree 2’s lifetime India collection of ₹597.99 crore, its lower overseas earnings (₹85 crore vs. Stree 2’s ₹144 crore) might pose a challenge.

🎥 Audience Response & Occupancy Trends

On Monday, Chhaava recorded an overall occupancy rate of:

  • Hindi market: 9.98%
  • Telugu market: 17.26%

Occupancy peaked during night screenings, reaching 13.90% (Hindi) and 19.66% (Telugu).

🏰 About Chhaava

Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Chhaava is an adaptation of the Marathi novel of the same name and chronicles the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire.

Film critic Shubhra Gupta, in her review, compared its intense climax to Mel Gibson’s ‘The Passion of the Christ’, highlighting the emotional depth and brutality of the historical narrative.

With strong word-of-mouth and sustained momentum, Chhaava remains a box office juggernaut, with its eyes set on the ₹800 crore mark.
