The Warrens Confront a Haunting Echo from Their Past, Promising a Spine-Tingling Conclusion to the Beloved Horror Saga, Hitting Theaters September 5th.

Los Angeles, California, USA, August 2, 2025: Horror enthusiasts, get your rosaries and hold on to your seats. The wait is finally over, and it’s scary! The final trailer for “The Conjuring: Last Rites” has finally been out, and it’s not just any old scare. In this penultimate chapter of the popular Conjuring universe, an old villain comes back that will make your skin crawl

Warner Bros. has now shown us what seems like a very scary end to the famous story of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. And if this trailer is any indication, the end is going to be very scary.

The Scariest Encounter the Warrens Ever Had Comes Back: A Demon from the Past

The Hollywood Reporter says that this last movie takes the Warrens, played again excellently by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, into the classic Smurl case. If you don’t know, this is based on a genuine family that was haunted by a demon for more than ten years. But what makes this case so scary for our favorite paranormal couple is that they realize that this monster isn’t new to them at all.

The teaser gives us that initial, gut-wrenching dread as Lorraine whispers, almost to herself, “There’s something in the attic. There is evil here, Ed. “Something I’ve felt before.” Later, her voice is thick with terror and deep understanding as she talks about the scary link to their own past. “This thing in your house is a demon.” She informs the troubled family, “It’s the first one we’ve ever seen.” And then, the real horror: “We were young. We were afraid. We left. And even after all these years, it wasn’t over with our family. Just think about how scared you would be to face a monster you believed you had gotten away from years ago!

A Creepy Cameo by Annabelle and a Fight to Stay Alive
If you’re a big fan of the Conjuring universe, you’ll surely gasp when you see the Annabelle doll in the trailer. It’s a blink-and-you-miss-it moment that will make you gasp. That creepy doll, who scared us in “The Conjuring” (2013) and subsequently received her own scary movie series, comes back to remind us of the terrible web that the Warrens are always fighting. It’s a small hint that makes things even scarier for devoted fans.

The trailer ends with a succession of dramatic, nail-biting scenes. We see Lorraine being chased by what seems like a terrifyingly possessed guy. Her anxiety is clear, and Ed is doing everything he can to save her from this overwhelming darkness. It’s a real test of their faith, love, and bravery.

The People Who Bring the Scares to Life
Mia Tomlinson plays Judy Warren, the daughter of the Warrens, and Ben Hardy plays Tony Spera, her boyfriend who becomes her husband. Steve Coulter, Elliot Cowan, Rebecca Calder, Kila Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, Shannon Kook, and John Brotherton are also part of this outstanding group. Each of them adds to the scary atmosphere.

Michael Chaves, who also directed “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” is in charge of this scary ending. He’s not new to the Warrens’ universe. James Wan and Peter Safran, two of the best horror filmmakers, are behind the movie. This guarantees that it will have the same high quality as the Conjuring movies. Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the script, which promises a scary, tight story.

Get ready to yell! On September 5th, “The Conjuring: Last Rites” will release its final, scary chapter in theaters. Don’t miss the scary ending to a story that has really changed the way horror is done today.
