“Chop Chop!”: Taapsee Pannu Supports Mathias Boe’s Retirement with a Hilarious Message

After Mathias Boe, husband and badminton coach, announced his retirement following the exit of India’s star men’s doubles duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, from the Paris Olympics, his wife, actor Taapsee Pannu, shared a humorous yet supportive message.

The popular duo, affectionately known as ‘Sat-Chi,’ were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik Soh with scores of 21-13, 14-21, and 16-21. Boe, who has been instrumental in their success, took to Instagram to express his pride and announce his retirement from coaching.

Boe’s heartfelt message read, “I know the feeling all too well myself. Pushing yourself to the limit every day, to be in the best shape of your life, and then things do not go as you would have hoped for. I know you guys are gutted… but you have everything to be proud of, how hard you have worked in this Olympics camp, battling injuries… that is dedication, that is passion, and that is a lot of heart. You have won so much over the past years and you are going to win so much more in the future.”

He further added, “For me, my coaching days end here, I’m not going to continue in India or anywhere else, for now at least. I have spent too much time in a badminton hall and it’s also pretty stressful to be a coach, I’m a tired old man.”

Taapsee Pannu humorously responded to Boe’s retirement announcement, writing, “But also now you’re a married man. You need to take a step back. I need to come back home from work every day to ready dinner and cleaning in order. So chop chop!”

Under Boe’s guidance, Satwiksairaj and Chirag achieved significant milestones, including gold at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and a bronze medal at the World Championships. They also clinched two BWF Tour titles this year and reached the finals in several prestigious tournaments.

While Boe looks forward to a well-deserved break, Taapsee continues to make waves in the film industry with her upcoming projects, ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein.’
