Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester for 2023 Tequila Bottle Assault Case

May 15, 2025 : R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested early Thursday morning in Manchester, England, in connection with an alleged assault on music producer Abe Diaw that took place in February 2023, according to The New York Post.

The incident reportedly occurred at Tape London nightclub, where Brown is accused of striking Diaw on the head with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle. According to court documents, Diaw alleges that after hitting him, Brown then “ruthlessly stomped on” him and kicked him in the back of the neck, rendering him unconscious for approximately 30 seconds.

Diaw filed a lawsuit in October 2023, claiming the attack resulted in serious and lasting injuries.

Brown, a two-time Grammy winner, has a well-documented history of legal issues. He pleaded guilty in 2009 to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, a case that drew significant media attention. In 2017, his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order after alleging threats and harassment.

As of now, Chris Brown and his representatives have not issued a public statement regarding the latest arrest.
