January 19, 2025: Coldplay’s India tour kicked off with an exciting and memorable performance in Mumbai at the DY Patil Stadium on Saturday evening. The band, led by Chris Martin, captivated the audience with a blend of their iconic songs like ‘Fix You’ and ‘A Sky Full of Stars,’ alongside stunning visual effects, including vibrant lights, intricate designs, and confetti cannons that showered the crowd with colorful ribbons.
The band’s connection with the Indian crowd was enhanced when Chris Martin incorporated some Hindi into his performance, expressing his gratitude by saying “shukriya.” The moment that particularly stood out was when Martin, reading a placard from the crowd, shouted “Jai Shri Ram,” prompting a huge cheer from the attendees. He also curiously asked what it meant, further engaging with the audience.
Ahead of the concert, Martin and his partner, actress Dakota Johnson, were spotted visiting the Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai, dressed in traditional ethnic attire, highlighting their respect for local culture.
