Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ IMAX Tickets Go on Sale — A Year Before Release!

July 16, 2025: The buzz surrounding Christopher Nolan’s next epic, The Odyssey, has officially reached a fever pitch. According to Variety, IMAX tickets for the film will go on sale July 17, 2025 — exactly one year before its highly anticipated release on July 17, 2026.

This unprecedented move is already sending shockwaves through the film world, with fans eager to secure seats for what promises to be one of the most immersive cinematic experiences ever made.

Limited IMAX Tickets: Nolan’s Signature Format

In classic Nolan fashion, the early-release tickets are extremely limited and will be available only for select IMAX 70mm screenings — the filmmaker’s preferred format for delivering jaw-dropping visuals and scale. Theatres equipped with IMAX 70mm projectors will be the only ones offering this early access.

While Universal Pictures and IMAX have yet to comment publicly, the announcement has already sent social media into a frenzy, with #TheOdyssey and #NolanIMAX trending across platforms.

A Star-Studded Odyssey: Cast & Storyline

Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic poem promises a powerful mix of mythology, action, and emotional drama. The film follows Odysseus on his perilous journey home following the Trojan War — and the all-star cast is nothing short of legendary:

  • Matt Damon as Odysseus
  • Tom Holland as Telemachus
  • Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, and John Leguizamo in key roles

This week, Damon, Holland, and Zendaya were spotted filming scenes in Scotland, with Damon fully suited in ancient Greek gear — leather boots, armor-laced tunic, and a flowing dark green cape. Holland and Zendaya, who are engaged in real life, were seen arriving separately on set by boat.

Exclusive Teaser Sneak Peek

Moviegoers who caught Jurassic World: Rebirth in theatres were treated to a surprise — an exclusive teaser for The Odyssey. The clip featured a tense exchange between Holland’s Telemachus and Jon Bernthal’s unnamed character, with a mysterious voiceover by John Leguizamo, whose role remains undisclosed.

Mark Your Calendar: The Odyssey Hits Theatres July 17, 2026

As the countdown begins, fans are bracing for what could be Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious film to date. With early IMAX tickets dropping a year in advance, the message is clear: This is more than a movie — it’s an event.
