Cobra Kai Star Martin Kove Removed from Fan Convention After Allegedly Biting Co-Star Alicia Hannah-Kim
Puyallup, Washington, June 24 — Cobra Kai actor Martin Kove was removed from a popular fan convention over the weekend after he allegedly bit co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim on the arm in an unprovoked incident that led her to contact local authorities. The altercation occurred at Summer Con 2025, where both actors were present for a Cobra Kai reunion appearance.
The alleged incident unfolded while Alicia Hannah-Kim was walking past a meet-and-greet table at the fan convention. According to a police report obtained by TMZ and confirmed by Deadline, Kove reportedly grabbed her arm and bit it with such force that he nearly broke the skin. As Hannah-Kim cried out in pain, Kove allegedly kissed her arm in response.
Her husband, actor Sebastian Roché, witnessed the interaction and joined Hannah-Kim in confronting Kove, saying the behavior was unacceptable. According to the report, Kove reacted furiously when told to back off, claiming that the bite was “for fun.”
Kove was at the convention to sign autographs and take photos with fans, a common and often highly lucrative practice at genre-specific conventions. Depending on the celebrity’s popularity, earnings can range between $12,000 to $25,000 per day or more.
Although Hannah-Kim chose not to press charges, she did request that police file an informational report, along with photographs of the bite mark, which officers described as “very noticeable” and already bruising. Following this, police instructed Kove to leave the venue.
A source at Summer Con told Deadline the incident was “handled quickly on-site” and caused a brief stir among attendees. “It was over before most people even realized what had happened,” the individual said.
Kove and Hannah-Kim were part of a Cobra Kai guest lineup that also included Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Rayna Vallandingham, and Patrick Luwis. The fan convention is one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest and also featured appearances from the Daredevil: Born Again cast, original Star Trek actors William Shatner and Walter Koenig, and wrestling icon Chris Jericho.
Martin Kove is best known for his role as John Kreese, the volatile sensei from the original Karate Kid trilogy and the Netflix continuation Cobra Kai. Alicia Hannah-Kim joined the show in Season 5 as Kim Da-Eun, a formidable South Korean sensei, and stayed on through the series’ conclusion.
Representatives for Kove, Hannah-Kim, and the Puyallup Police Department have yet to respond to media inquiries.
