Coldplay Fever in Ahmedabad Sends Hotel Prices Soaring to Rs 50,000 Per Night

November 15, 2024: The Coldplay craze has hit Ahmedabad, and with it, hotel prices have skyrocketed to unprecedented levels. Ever since the British band announced their additional concert at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, fans have been scrambling for accommodations, only to find that rates have surged beyond expectations. On social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), fans are sharing their frustration and disbelief as room prices around the concert date exceed Rs 50,000 per night.

Following Coldplay’s scheduled performances in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, the Ahmedabad show is expected to attract thousands of fans from across the country and beyond. With demand at an all-time high, hotels in Ahmedabad are charging premium rates, making it challenging for fans to secure affordable stays.

Social media has been buzzing with reactions to the price hikes. One fan tweeted, “When even miles don’t come to the rescue. Hotel rates have already skyrocketed for the 25th/26th in Ahmedabad.” Another user shared, “I thought I’d book a hotel room in case I manage to get tickets for Coldplay in Ahmedabad. But the prices just shot up.”

Some fans had anticipated the demand and booked accommodations early, only to face unexpected cancellations. One user reported, “I booked a stay near Narendra Modi Stadium right after the concert announcement for Rs 1,800. Today, I got an email saying the booking was canceled. Now, the same room costs around Rs 18,000!”

Another fan emphasized the advantage of booking early, saying, “If you think you can get hotels in Ahmedabad for good rates for the Coldplay concert on January 25/26 – FORGET IT! Smart people booked in September when there was speculation about the band playing in Ahmedabad too.”

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour marks their return to India after a nine-year break, and it’s clear that fans are willing to go to great lengths to see them live. Produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, in association with Live Nation, the tour has sparked massive demand. Tickets for the additional Ahmedabad show are set to go on sale at 12 pm on November 16, exclusively on BookMyShow.

For fans, the soaring hotel prices add another layer of excitement—and challenge—to this historic concert experience. The question remains: how far will Coldplay enthusiasts go to witness the magic live in Ahmedabad?
