Coldplay Singer Chris Martin Attends Five Year Anniversary Of Sachin Tendulkar Foundation
January 23, 2025: Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, attended a special celebration in Mumbai on Wednesday to mark the five-year anniversary of the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation (STF). The event, held at the Bombay Club, was an intimate gathering where Martin engaged in a private conversation with the cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar.
Chris, who has been friends with Tendulkar for some time, donned an all-black outfit paired with white sneakers for the event. He congratulated Sachin on the remarkable achievement of the foundation and praised the impact it has had on improving the lives of those in need, particularly in the areas of health, education, and sports.
The theme of the evening, “Shine Brighter Together,” reflected STF’s mission to empower children and communities through its work. The event also marked a significant moment for Sara Tendulkar, who recently assumed the role of Director at the Foundation. She spoke about her family’s influence on her and how STF’s work has touched over 100,000 lives in its first five years. Sara expressed her excitement about continuing her parents’ work, stating that she looks forward to nurturing the dreams of children across the country.
Sachin Tendulkar also shared his thoughts on the journey of STF, noting that after his cricket career, he and his wife Anjali had a vision to assist underprivileged communities. He talked about how the foundation has made a tangible difference in the lives of young people, especially through sports-for-development initiatives. He expressed confidence in the future under Sara’s leadership and the foundation’s plans to expand its reach, including developing better infrastructure in rural areas and strengthening healthcare access for children.
The evening also included a short film showcasing the foundation’s work and the partnerships with over 15 NGOs. The gathering acknowledged the collective effort of those involved in supporting STF’s mission and vision.
Founded in 2019 by Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar, the STF aims to create equal opportunities for children and foster positive social change by focusing on education, healthcare, and sports development.
