Crazy Viral! Coldplay’s Chris Martin Delights Fans With “Jai Shri Ram” During Mumbai Concert

The Coldplay frontman’s spontaneous gesture and Hindi greetings left fans thrilled as the band kicked off their India tour in Mumbai.

January 20, 2025: Coldplay’s India tour began with a spectacular performance in Mumbai on Saturday evening, marking the first of their highly anticipated concerts in the country. The band’s frontman, Chris Martin, charmed the audience by greeting them in Hindi, saying “shukriya” after a song, which drew cheers from fans.

The highlight of the evening, however, was an unexpected moment when Chris Martin read fan placards in the audience. Spotting one with the words “Jai Shri Ram,” he repeated the phrase aloud, prompting an eruption of applause and cheers from the crowd. Curious about the meaning, Chris inquired further, showcasing his enthusiasm to connect with his Indian fans.

Coldplay delivered electrifying performances of their biggest hits, including “Paradise,” “Viva La Vida,” “Adventure of a Lifetime,” and “Yellow,” among others.

The band is set to perform in Mumbai again on January 21 and 22, before heading to Ahmedabad for concerts on January 25 and 26. These shows will also be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar, allowing fans across the country to enjoy the performances.

During his stay in Mumbai, Chris Martin, accompanied by his girlfriend, actress Dakota Johnson, took some time to visit local temples, embracing India’s vibrant culture.
