Controversial Film 'Udaipur Files' Gets Green Signal; New Release Date Announced
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has dismissed petitions to ban the film, clearing the way for its release on August 8. The decision comes after a Delhi High Court order and the CBFC’s certification, which required the producers to make 55 cuts.
August 7, 2025: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given the go-ahead for the release of the controversial film Udaipur Files, which stars Vijay Raaz.
The film’s release had been delayed by a legal struggle. The movie was supposed to be out on July 11, but it will now come out on August 8, 2025.
The Delhi High Court has already put a stop to the movie when people asked for a ban on its content, which is based on the death of tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur in 2022. But on Wednesday, August 6, the Ministry turned down all of the film’s revision petitions, saying that the people who were against it had not made a strong enough case for more action. The government said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had already approved the movie after the makers made 55 edits and followed all the rules.
On social media, producer Amit Jani announced the revised release date and told people to view the movie and decide for themselves what they think of it.
