Coolie OTT Release Date: When And Where To Stream Rajinikanth’s Action Blockbuster Online

As the film continues its record-breaking theatrical run, the makers have sealed a massive ₹120 crore digital rights deal, with the OTT premiere.

August 15, 2025: Superstar Rajinikanth’s action-comedy Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has been a huge hit since it was out on August 14, 2025, and fans are now looking forward to its streaming launch. Amazon Prime Video has been named the official digital partner for the movie after a record-breaking contract.

Amazon Prime Video has bought the OTT rights for an amazing ₹120 crore, according to trade sources. This is one of the biggest digital acquisitions in Tamil movie history. Although the filmmakers haven’t said when the movie would be available to stream, some in the industry say it will follow the usual eight-week theatrical timeframe for big hits. This means that the projected OTT launch will be around the Dussehra weekend in October 2025.

The movie’s main character, Deva (Rajinikanth), is a former daily-wage worker who goes on a revenge mission after his friend’s death, which he thinks was suspicious, leads him to a strong crime group. The cast includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, and Aamir Khan, who makes a special appearance. There is also a spectacular dance number by Pooja Hegde and an appearance by legendary actress Shobana in the movie.

The film was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who also co-authored the story. Anirudh Ravichander wrote the soundtrack, Girish Gangadharan shot the picture, and Philomin Raj edited it.

At the same time, Rajinikanth’s admirers have more to rejoice. The actor has already started filming on Jailer 2, the sequel to his 2023 hit movie. The movie is set to be out in November 2025, which will keep him as the unchallenged ruler of Indian cinema.
