Courtney Thorne-Smith Ends 18-Year Marriage?!

Washington DC [US], June 22: Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith, known for her role in the hit TV series Melrose Place, has filed for divorce from her husband Roger Fishman after 18 years of marriage, People reported.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 17, the 57-year-old actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The documents also state that Thorne-Smith and Fishman have been separated since September 2021.

Thorne-Smith filed the paperwork without legal representation and has requested joint custody of their 17-year-old son, Jacob Emerson. She also asked the court to terminate spousal support for both parties.

The couple married on New Year’s Day in 2007. This marks Thorne-Smith’s second marriage; she was previously married to geneticist Andrew Conrad from 2000 to 2001. The couple had no children.

During her time on Melrose Place, which aired from 1992 to 1999, Thorne-Smith briefly dated her co-star Andrew Shue. Reflecting on that time during an August 2024 episode of the Still the Place podcast, she recalled the breakup as “shockingly not weird” and shared that the pair implemented an on-screen “no tongue” kissing rule afterward to keep things professional.

Courtney Thorne-Smith began her film career in the 1986 teen drama Lucas, starring alongside Corey Haim, Winona Ryder, and Charlie Sheen. She went on to appear in films such as Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987), Side Out (1990), and Chairman of the Board (1998). In 2009, she returned to television movies with Sorority Wars.
