Crime Branch Grills Suspected Firearms Suppliers in Salman Khan Shooting Case

In a significant turn of events regarding the shooting incident outside Bollywood icon Salman Khan’s residence, two suspects apprehended in Punjab have been brought to Mumbai under the custody of the Crime Branch, according to police statements on Friday.

The accused are alleged to have supplied firearms to the shooters involved in the attack outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the shooters, underwent intensive questioning by officials from the elite National Investigation Agency (NIA) for several hours.

Mumbai Police disclosed that the duo arrived in the city on Thursday under transit remand secured by the Crime Branch. Their interrogation yielded crucial information, following an extension of their police custody by the Esplanade Court until April 29.

Previously, the Crime Branch had presented significant evidence implicating gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi as the masterminds behind the attack. The Bishnoi brothers, along with two others, were identified as prime suspects in the case.

According to Mumbai Crime Branch sources, comprehensive surveillance was conducted around Salman Khan’s residence and farmhouse before the shooting. The attackers had meticulously surveyed the premises multiple times before carrying out the attack outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.

Further investigations led to the recovery of a broken mobile handset from the accused, suggesting potential communication regarding the crime. Additionally, a pistol, magazines, and rounds were found in the Tapi River in Surat, shedding light on the disposal of evidence by the perpetrators.

The involvement of the Bishnoi brothers was corroborated by social media statements, where Anmol Bishnoi purportedly claimed responsibility for the attack through a Facebook post.

Legal proceedings have expanded to include sections under IPC 506(2), 115, and 201, underscoring the gravity of the charges against the accused. Mumbai Crime Branch officials are intensifying efforts to apprehend wanted individuals and gather further evidence crucial to the case.

As the investigation progresses, efforts remain focused on unraveling the intricate network behind the targeted attack on Salman Khan’s residence.
