Dabangg Director Abhinav Kashyap Makes Explosive Allegations Against Salman Khan, Calls Him ‘Gunda’

Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap has reignited his decade-long feud with Salman Khan and his family, publicly calling the actor a “gunda” (goon) and alleging he is not interested in acting. The director claimed that the Khans control Bollywood and are “vindictive” toward those who don’t agree with them.

September 8, 2025: In a recent and disturbing interview, Abhinav Kashyap, who directed the smash movie Dabangg with Salman Khan in 2010, stated a lot of horrible things about the actor and his family. The comments, which were made right before the movie’s 15th anniversary, have brought back an old issue and startled everyone in the industry

Kashyap didn’t hold back when he talked about the Khan family after the movie came out. He told Screen that Salman Khan was a “gunda” (goon) and a “badtameez” (bad guy, unpleasant). He added that the famous person doesn’t want to act and “hasn’t wanted to act in the last 25 years.” Instead, they use “the power of being a celebrity.”

The director further alleged that the Khan family was “vengeful” and ran the “star system” in Bollywood. He cautioned, “You have to agree with them or else they will come after you.” Kashyap also added that his brother Anurag Kashyap, who is a director, was having a terrible time. He also alleged that Anurag was treated terribly and not given credit for creating the script for Salman’s 2003 movie Tere Naam.

Years after Abhinav first alleged in 2020 that Salman and his family hurt his career because he didn’t want to direct the Dabangg sequel, new claims have come to light. At the time, Salman’s father, Salim Khan, didn’t agree with what they said, so the family went to court.

Salman Khan and his family haven’t said anything new about these comments in public yet, and they haven’t talked about the issue at all. The director’s views, on the other hand, have brought up the question of power and creative freedom in the movie business again.
