Daisy Shah Backs Palash Muchhal After Smriti Mandhana Wedding Controversy
Actor Daisy Shah has publicly supported music composer and director Palash Muchhal, months after his highly publicised split with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana.
Her remarks come as Palash recently announced his new directorial venture starring Shreyas Talpade and Daisy Shah, marking his first major professional announcement since his cancelled wedding last year.
In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Daisy revealed that she first met Palash through his sister, singer Palak Muchhal, who had sung a track in Daisy’s Bollywood debut film Jai Ho.
She shared that she has known the Muchhal family socially for years and often attends celebrations at Palak’s home.
“Palash is very good as a person. I have met him a couple of times… that’s how I got to know that he is a music composer and a director,” Daisy said.
Daisy also spoke highly of Palash’s upbringing and family background, describing them as grounded and spiritually inclined.
“They are a beautiful family, very grounded. They believe in God, and I think that’s the good part about them. Those who believe in God are positive people,” she added.
The Controversy Around Smriti Mandhana Wedding Cancellation
Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were scheduled to marry on November 25, 2025, but the wedding was abruptly called off just a day before the ceremony.
Initially, it was stated that the decision was due to the ill health of Smriti Mandhana’s father. However, rumours later surfaced alleging infidelity on Palash’s part, triggering intense media scrutiny of both families.
Reports also claimed that Palash was hospitalised during the wedding preparations before being moved to Mumbai. Soon after, both Palash and Smriti confirmed on social media that their wedding had been cancelled.
Despite the controversy, Palash Muchhal has returned to professional life with his upcoming directorial project, signalling a fresh chapter in his career.
