The long-awaited sequel trailer is a laugh-riot, centering on Ashish (Ajay Devgn) trying to woo his new in-laws, whose priceless reactions to their ‘same-age’ son-in-law guarantee a fun cinematic ride this November.
October 15, 2025: The much-anticipated sequel, De De Pyaar De 2, is officially set to hit the big screens on November 14, 2025, six years after the romantic comedy’s box office success.
The film’s trailer, launched at a star-studded event in Mumbai on Tuesday, promises a fresh wave of age-gap comedy as the story flips to the next big challenge for the unconventional couple.
Plot Twist: Meet the Parents
The original 2019 hit saw Ashish (Ajay Devgn) finally gain the approval of his estranged family and ex-wife, Manju (Tabu). The sequel, directed by Anshul Sharma, picks up where it left off, centering on the other family: Ashish and his girlfriend, Aisha (Rakul Preet Singh), must now convince her parents.
The trailer introduces a stellar new cast: R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor as Aisha’s parents, who are instantly the show-stealers. Madhavan’s character is shown reacting hilariously to the vast age difference between his daughter and Ashish, setting up the core conflict. In a bid to stop the wedding, Aisha’s parents even bring in a new suitor, played by Meezaan Jafri, adding more chaos to the “Pyaar vs Parivaar” clash.
Trailer Highlights
The trailer is a riot of laughter, loaded with witty one-liners and comical situations. A moment where Ashish struggles to decide whether to call his mother-in-law ‘Bhabhi ji’ or ‘Mummy ji’ is a standout. The trailer concludes on a high note, teasing a funny sequence set to the classic song, Main Kaa Karo Ram Mujhe Buddha Mil Gaya, guaranteeing laughs. The performances by Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Jaaved Jafri, and the new cast members, R Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor, all leave a strong mark.
With his last release, Son Of Sardaar 2, failing to click at the box office, all eyes are now on Devgn to deliver another comedy hit with the sequel to his popular franchise. De De Pyaar De 2 is produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, along with Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
