Deepika Padukone Becomes First Indian Actress to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The global icon will be honored in the Motion Pictures category as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026, joining an elite list of international luminaries including Emily Blunt and Timothée Chalamet.

Los Angeles, July 3, 2025 — Indian actress and global star Deepika Padukone has scripted history by becoming the first Indian actress to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is part of the Class of 2026 in the Motion Pictures category, as announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce during a live broadcast on Wednesday.

The announcement places Deepika alongside global icons such as Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Timothée Chalamet, and Stanley Tucci.

The Class of 2026 comprises 35 honorees from across five categories: motion pictures, television, live theatre/performance, recording, and sports entertainment. The list includes names from various fields such as NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, Good Morning America co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, and posthumous honors for director Tony Scott and special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi.

Zoning In On Deepika’s Hollywood Impact

Deepika made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with XXX: Return of Xander Cage, starring opposite Vin Diesel. Since then, she has emerged as a global cultural ambassador, representing Indian cinema at events like the Cannes Film Festival, the Academy Awards, and several international brand campaigns.

Upcoming Projects and Personal Milestones

Currently, Deepika is set to begin filming for director Atlee’s next project opposite Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA22xA6. She was recently seen in the pan-India sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, and is confirmed for the sequel.

On the personal front, Deepika and her husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter Dua Padukone Singh on September 8, 2024. The couple introduced her to the world with the heartfelt message: “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers.”
