Deepika Padukone Celebrates 11 Years of ‘Chennai Express’ with SRK’s “Singham 5” Shout-Out

Deepika Padukone recently marked the 11th anniversary of the beloved film Chennai Express with a nostalgic Instagram post. The 2013 blockbuster, directed by Rohit Shetty, saw Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan light up the screen with their electrifying chemistry. To commemorate this milestone, Deepika shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film’s set, where Shah Rukh Khan affectionately calls her “Singham 5.”

In the shared video, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone can be seen performing the iconic “Singham” pose together, showcasing their camaraderie. The clip also features Deepika delivering her memorable dialogue from the film, “Kahan se khareedi aisi bakwaas dictionary,” adding a touch of nostalgia for fans.

Deepika captioned the post with a playful query to her followers: “How many times do you think I’ve had to repeat this dialogue!? Sahi jawaab ko milega ‘Ek Bakwaas Dictionary’!!!” Fans flocked to the comments, reminiscing about the film’s charm and humor. One fan exclaimed, “We need such mindless entertainment movies back!!” while another guessed, “Dialogue must have repeated 20 times.”

Chennai Express follows the story of Meenamma (played by Deepika), a Tamil woman who falls for Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), a North Indian man. The plot unfolds as Rahul embarks on a journey with his late grandfather’s ashes on the Chennai Express train, intending to go to Goa, while Meenamma’s quest for adventure leads to a series of comical mishaps.

The film’s soundtrack, composed by Vishal-Shekhar, was also a highlight, particularly the song “Lungi Dance,” a tribute to the legendary Rajinikanth, performed by Honey Singh.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone is currently riding high on the success of Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic film, set in the year 2898 AD, draws inspiration from Hindu scriptures and features an impressive cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani. The film is a futuristic mythology-inspired epic, with cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.

As Deepika reflects on her Chennai Express journey, fans continue to celebrate the film’s legacy and eagerly anticipate her upcoming projects.
