At the grand inauguration of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, all eyes were on Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone as she made a graceful entrance. The event was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called WAVES 2025 a “historic moment” for India’s cultural and creative industries. Themed “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” the summit aims to position India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation.

Running from May 1 to May 4, WAVES 2025 is India’s first-of-its-kind international event focused on the audio-visual and entertainment sectors. It is hosting over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300 companies, and 350 startups, spanning sectors such as film, OTT, AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), AI, and broadcasting.

While the summit highlights India’s booming media and entertainment industry, it was this brief but beautiful exchange between Deepika and Mira that added a personal, heartwarming touch to an otherwise formal affair—reminding everyone that behind the glam and glitz, kindness always shines brightest.
