Deepika Padukone, currently filming ‘Singham Again’, was featured in a heartfelt social media post by one of her co-artists this Wednesday. The post included a selfie of the artist with Deepika, along with a sketch and a bouquet of flowers.
The attached note referred to Deepika as “our hero, Lady Singham”, expressing profound admiration and gratitude. It read, “Deepika Padukone The Only Lady Singham Glad to meet you ma’am One of the best days of my life Felt so lucky to work with you, still remember the day you smiled at me and the way you appreciated and became happy after seeing the sketch. I pray that we meet many more times in future….. Lots of love from us!! Always and forever ma’am. Love Love.”
Recently, director Rohit Shetty unveiled a first look of Deepika in her role, where she is seen donning a cop uniform and striking an iconic pose reminiscent of Ajay Devgn’s in the original ‘Singham’. Shetty praised her, stating, “MY HERO… REEL MEIN BHI AUR REAL MEIN BHI (In reel and in real) LADY SINGHAM!!! @deepikapadukone.”
‘Singham Again’, directed by Shetty and featuring an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh, is the latest installment in the successful ‘Singham’ franchise. It is slated for release on Independence Day 2024, following its predecessors ‘Singham’ (2011) and ‘Singham Returns’ (2014).
In addition to her role in ‘Singham Again’, Deepika is also involved in the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, set to release on June 27. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, was spotlighted recently with a teaser featuring Amitabh Bachchan that premiered during an IPL match. The teaser shows Bachchan’s character in a mythical setting, hinting at a rich, mythology-inspired narrative. Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani are also part of this ambitious project, which is touted to be a sci-fi extravaganza set in the future.
