She admitted, “I went through a lot in the eight, nine months of being pregnant and delivery,” acknowledging the difficulties she faced. The couple had been keeping their daughter’s name a secret until recently, but Deepika shared that they finalized the name “Dua” in November 2024. “I think what was more important for us was to first hold the baby in our arms, allow her to sort of see this new world she’s come into, allow her personality to start developing a little bit… It felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us and why she means what she means to us,” she said. The name Dua holds deep emotional significance for the couple, as they see their daughter as a “prayer” answered. As they explained during their Diwali 2024 announcement, Dua’s name symbolizes the love and gratitude they feel for her, with the meaning of “Dua” being “a prayer.”

Deepika also spoke about the challenges of living in the public eye, especially while raising a child. As a celebrity, she has had to navigate the pressures of parenting in the spotlight, learning to tune out negativity and focus on what truly matters—providing her daughter with a nurturing, loving environment.
