Deepika Padukone Teases Amitabh Bachchan as 'Piku' Clocks 9, Fondly Remembers Irrfan Khan
As the beloved comedy-drama ‘Piku’ marked its ninth anniversary since release, Deepika Padukone celebrated the milestone in a playful manner, reminiscing about her time on set and teasing co-actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Sharing a nostalgic still from the movie on Instagram, Deepika affectionately recalled her experiences alongside Bachchan and the late Irrfan Khan, adding a touch of humor to her tribute.
In the caption, she playfully mentioned Bachchan’s habit of teasing her about her appetite, eliciting fond memories of their time together on set. She also expressed heartfelt nostalgia for Irrfan Khan, dearly missed by all who worked with him.
The post quickly garnered attention and love from fans and industry colleagues alike, with Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh dropping heart emojis and fans expressing their affection for the film.
‘Piku,’ known for its realistic portrayal of family dynamics and heartfelt performances, featured Deepika as the titular character dealing with her father’s quirks, played by Bachchan. The late Irrfan Khan portrayed the pragmatic taxi company owner, adding depth and charm to the narrative.
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, ‘Piku’ released in 2015 to widespread acclaim, earning Deepika her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is currently immersed in the shooting of ‘Singham Again,’ the highly anticipated third installment of the hit franchise. Additionally, she has ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ a sci-fi flick directed by Nag Ashwin, slated for release on June 27.
