Deepika Padukone’s Ex Breaks Silence on Hidden 2-Year Romance Before Stardom!

Model Muzammil Ibrahim Opens Up About His Past With Deepika Padukone, Their Rickshaw Dates, And Why It Ended

June, 06 2025: In a surprising and heartfelt revelation, former model and actor Muzammil Ibrahim has opened up about his alleged romantic relationship with Deepika Padukone, long before she became one of India’s biggest superstars. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan in a candid interview, Muzammil painted a picture of a simpler time — when Deepika was still a newcomer, finding her place in the world of cinema.

“We Were Together for Two Years,” Says Muzammil Ibrahim

Muzammil claimed that he and Deepika were in a serious relationship for nearly two years. “We were in a relationship for two years. She was very confident even then — being Prakash Padukone’s daughter, people already knew of her,” he said.

Recalling their early days, he added, “I was a star back then, and she wasn’t. Now, she’s a superstar, and I’m not even in the picture. But I’m a huge fan of hers — I love her movies. She’s a beautiful woman and doing incredibly well.”

Love In Simplicity: Rickshaw Rides and Birthday Songs

Opening up about their memorable moments, Muzammil shared, “We were just kids. We’d go on dates in the rain, riding rickshaws. That was very cute. I had started earning by then, so I had more money than her. I eventually bought a car, and she was so happy about it.”

One birthday celebration especially stood out. “She loved a particular song, and since I knew the DJ, he played it on loop for an hour and a half — just for her.”

Why Did Deepika and Muzammil Break Up?

While Deepika reportedly pursued him initially, Muzammil said he was the one who ended the relationship. The reason behind the breakup remains unclear, but Muzammil made it known that there was no bad blood.

“We don’t talk anymore,” he revealed. “Before her marriage to Ranveer Singh in 2018, we would speak occasionally. But after that, we lost touch.”

“We Were So Happy With Nothing”

Perhaps the most touching takeaway was Muzammil’s reflection on those early days of love and struggle. “We were so happy even though we had no money. Those memories — the rickshaw rides, the rain, the laughter — they still stay with me,” he said with nostalgia.
