July 17, 2025: Denise Richards has filed a disturbing declaration in court as part of her request for a restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers. In her emotional statement, Richards details a series of frightening incidents that allegedly occurred in the days leading up to Phypers’ divorce filing.
The actress, 54, said she moved out of their marital home in late 2023 due to ongoing issues and settled into a townhome, repeatedly telling Phypers, 52, he was not allowed there. Despite this, she claims he showed up uninvited on July 4 — the same date he later listed as their official separation.

Richards alleges that Phypers became enraged when she asked his family to move out of their former home. Over the course of two hours, he allegedly screamed degrading insults at her, physically grabbed her arm, and refused to leave, even as she pleaded with him and threatened to call the police. She says his behavior left her fearing for her life, especially since she was recovering from surgery at the time.
“Aaron’s actions were scaring me to the point that I was afraid he may kill me,” she wrote, noting their stark size difference.
Later that night, Phypers allegedly broke into her office and demanded his phone. When she threatened to call 911, he reportedly left—but not before saying, “You are going to disappear.”
Richards says the harassment continued the next day. She claims he grabbed and dragged her down the stairs, causing immense pain. He allegedly also threatened to hack her devices and leak personal information online. She says his father joined in, verbally abusing her and threatening to go public with private data from her phone.
Phypers allegedly stole her laptop, purse, and suitcase—including ID, passport, and credit cards—leaving her with no choice but to seek refuge at her daughter’s house for safety.
On July 7, Phypers filed for divorce. Days later, on July 14, Richards claims he sent her screenshots of her own private texts, which he had accessed through her laptop.
She is now requesting that the court order Phypers to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her home. As of now, he has not responded publicly to the allegations.
