A heartfelt ‘Celebration of Life’ prayer meet was hosted by the Deol family on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Mumbai to honor the late veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away on Monday at the age of 89.
The gathering saw the entire Deol family, including sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, appearing visibly emotional as they stood to greet the numerous guests from the film fraternity.
Emotional Farewell by the Sons
- Venue & Time: The meet was held in the lawns of Taj Lands End in Bandra, starting at 5:30 PM and concluding around 8:00 PM.
- The Deol Family: Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were seen for the first time since their father’s private funeral. Dressed in simple white attire, they were captured greeting guests with moist eyes. Sunny offered a respectful ‘namaste’ gesture, while Bobby stood closely by, emotional yet composed. Other family members present included Karan Deol, Abhay Deol, and Dharmendra’s first wife Prakash Kaur’s daughters, Ajeita and Vijeta.
- Tribute: A large, framed photograph of Dharmendra, surrounded by elaborate floral arrangements, was prominently displayed. The event featured a heartfelt musical tribute, including performances by singer Sonu Nigam, who sang many of the late actor’s popular songs.
Bollywood Stars Pay Respects
A massive turnout from the film industry arrived to pay their last tributes to the “He-Man of Bollywood.” Notable attendees included:
- Khans & Bachchans: Shah Rukh Khan (who attended with family), Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
- Veterans & Peers: Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Subhash Ghai.
- Younger Generation: Sidharth Malhotra, Karan Johar, Sonu Sood, Nimrat Kaur, and Ameesha Patel.
Dharmendra passed away on November 24, days before what would have been his 90th birthday on December 8.
