The trailer for “Devara: Part 1” has been unveiled at a grand event in Mumbai, generating significant excitement ahead of its release.
Directed by the renowned Koratala Siva, the film marks the return of superstar Jr NTR after his global success with RRR, and it promises a gripping tale of power, fear, and transformation. Jr NTR plays a dual role as Devara and Varadha, set against the backdrop of a coastal region embroiled in a clash of wills and shifting power dynamics.
The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 39 seconds, sets the stage for an epic confrontation. Saif Ali Khan portrays Bhaira, a master of kushti (wrestling), whose reign of dominance is threatened by Devara’s arrival. The narrative suggests an intricate power struggle, with Saif’s character devising a plan to crush the very person who instills fear in him. Jr NTR’s portrayal of two contrasting characters adds complexity to the storyline, and his intense screen presence is already being praised.
Adding to the emotional depth, Janhvi Kapoor plays Thangam, a village belle caught in a love story with Devara’s son. Her character’s involvement hints at family ties and personal stakes amid the broader conflict, especially as the son may be forced to step up and face daunting challenges despite being different from his father in temperament.
At the trailer launch, Jr NTR described Devara as “an action drama,” particularly emphasizing the final 30 to 40 minutes as being especially impactful. The film also features a powerful soundtrack by Anirudh Ravichander, with songs like ‘Fear Song’, ‘Chuttamalle’, and ‘Daavudi’ adding intensity to the narrative. The music has already sparked mixed reactions, but it is expected to heighten the film’s dramatic moments.
In addition to the main cast, Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain add further star power to the film. Produced by Kosaraju Hari Krishna and Sudhakar Mikkilineni under the banners of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, Devara: Part 1 will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, on September 27. Notably, Indian filmmaker Karan Johar will handle the North India theatrical distribution.
As the release date nears, expectations are high for this action-packed saga. Fans are eager to see how Jr NTR and the ensemble cast bring this intense story of power, conflict, and transformation to life on the big screen.
