Dhadak 2 Gets Release Date: Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri To Lead A Bold Tale Of Love And Rebellion

May 26, 2025 : The much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak has officially been titled Dhadak 2 and is all set to hit theatres on August 1, 2025. Unlike its predecessor, which was a Hindi remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat, the sequel brings an original and hard-hitting story that blends romance with social rebellion.

Produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Dhadak 2 will be helmed by Shazia Iqbal, marking a bold new direction for the franchise.

Taking on the lead roles are two of Bollywood’s most promising young actors — Siddhant Chaturvedi (Gully Boy, Gehraiyaan) and Triptii Dimri (Qala, Animal), whose on-screen pairing is already generating excitement.

Karan Johar Unveils Poster with Stirring Message

Producer Karan Johar announced the release date and unveiled the film’s first poster on social media. The post was accompanied by a striking line:

(If you have to choose between dying and fighting… choose to fight.)

The poster, washed in melancholic blue hues, shows Siddhant and Triptii locked in an emotional embrace, both characters visibly distressed — hinting at a turbulent and emotionally charged narrative.

A Love Story with a Purpose

While Dhadak focused on youthful romance and inter-caste conflict, Dhadak 2 delves deeper into themes of class divide, societal pressure, and resistance. Set against a more mature and politically nuanced backdrop, the film promises to challenge traditional narratives and spark conversation around love in the face of oppression.

According to sources close to the project, Dhadak 2 will highlight raw, emotional storytelling rooted in contemporary issues, with intense performances expected from both leads.

What to Expect

With a fresh directorial voice in Shazia Iqbal and powerhouse backing from Dharma and Zee, Dhadak 2 aims to go beyond surface-level romance to tell a story that is both personal and political. The film’s premise — combining love with rebellion — could mark a new chapter for socially conscious cinema in mainstream Bollywood.
