Dhadak 2 Trailer: Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri Fight Systemic Discrimination To Save Love

July 11, 2025: Two years after the film’s first announcement, the Dhadak 2 trailer has finally been released. Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi play the main characters in this new edition, which is a spiritual follow-up to the 2018 romance film Dhadak. The actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter made their debuts in the 2018 movie. Dhadak 2, which was co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Shazia Iqbal, delves deeper into issues of identity, power, and the frequently agonizing emotional cost of love.

In this politically heated drama, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri portray law students. The film’s emotional tone is established in the trailer’s first scene, a moving conversation between the two. “Tum mujhse pyaar karti ho na?” Siddhant queries. “You love me, right?” Toh mujhse door raho. So don’t come near me. Triptii replies, bewildered and offended, “Kyu door rahu? (Why should I avoid it?) “Kyuki saath rehna itna aasaan nahi jitna tumhe lagta hai” (Being together isn’t as easy as you think) is his response. “It’s also not as hard as you think it is,” Triptii asserts, refusing to give up.

The teaser then flashes back to their college reunion, where they bonded over Siddhant’s awkward English, a detail that gives his character depth. What starts out as a sweet college romance gradually develops into a potent caste critique. Conflict quickly centers on Siddhant’s lower-caste identity. What begins as harmless teasing turns into political unrest.

“I thought all this was a thing of the past,” a visibly frightened Triptii says. With a gentle honesty, Siddhant replies, “Vidhi, those who never experience it feel that way.”
Their love is caught in the crossfire of generational prejudice and societal discrimination as the story progresses. The film asks a tough question: Is love really more powerful than caste? That is what is still to be determined.

A passionate love story caught in the midst of personal struggle and societal conflicts is hinted at in the teaser. The chemistry between Triptii and Siddhant is evident, providing insight into the heartache and resiliency that their characters face.

The film’s impressive supporting cast includes Ashwant Lodhi, Manjiri Pupala, Deeksha Joshi, Priyank Tiwari, Amit Jaat, Mayank Khanna, and Vipin Sharma in addition to the starring duo.

On August 1, Dhadak 2 will be released in theaters.
