Dhanush & Nayanthara Attend Producer Aakash Baskaran’s Wedding Amid Public Feud
November 22, 2024: Actors Nayanthara and Dhanush were recently seen attending the wedding of Idli Kadai producer, Aakash Baskaran, despite their ongoing public fallout.
Videos and photos of the event have surfaced online, showcasing the stars sharing the same venue but carefully avoiding any direct interaction.
The wedding, held in the presence of numerous film industry personalities, marked the first time Dhanush and Nayanthara were seen at the same event following their widely-publicized dispute.
In one widely circulated clip, the actors were seated in the front row, albeit at opposite ends of the hall. While Dhanush appeared fully engrossed in the ceremony, Nayanthara engaged in conversation with other guests.
The public tension between the two stars dates back to November 16, when Nayanthara addressed a sharply worded open letter to Dhanush in response to a legal notice he had issued. The controversy stemmed from her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, which allegedly included unauthorized behind-the-scenes footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Dhanush, the producer of the film, claimed exclusive ownership of the footage and demanded Rs 10 crore in damages.
In her letter, Nayanthara referred to Dhanush as a “tyrant” and urged him to allow others to live their lives freely. She also criticized his legal action as overly aggressive and unjust.
The wedding saw the attendance of other industry heavyweights, including music composer Anirudh Ravichander and actor Sivakarthikeyan. While neither Dhanush nor Nayanthara directly addressed their ongoing dispute at the event, their simultaneous presence drew significant public attention.
The feud escalated after Dhanush’s legal team asserted that Wunderbar Pictures, his production house, retained full rights to Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and its associated materials, including the disputed three seconds of footage. The actor’s legal notice described the usage of these clips in Nayanthara’s documentary as unauthorized, sparking the war of words between the two.
Despite the tension, both stars maintained professionalism at the wedding, steering clear of any public confrontation. The incident has left fans speculating about whether a resolution between the two is possible.
