November 9, 2024: Dhanush’s fans are in for a treat with the announcement of his upcoming film Idli Kadai, which will mark his fourth directorial venture. The actor-director shared a new poster and confirmed the release date for the film, which is slated to hit theaters on April 10 next year.
The poster, which Dhanush shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, features him entering a small, quaint shop named “Sivanesan,” set against a serene backdrop with blue skies and birds flying in the distance. This hints at a calm, reflective vibe for the film, which seems to revolve around simple, everyday experiences, possibly involving food or community—a likely homage to the humble idli stalls found in South India.
In addition to Dhanush, Idli Kadai will also star Nithya Menon, who reunites with him after their successful collaboration in Thiruchitrambalam (2022). Nithya’s performance in Thiruchitrambalam earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, adding even more excitement to the prospect of this new film.
The film’s crew includes music composed by GV Prakash, cinematography by Kiran Koushik, and editing by Prasanna GK. Idli Kadai is being produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films in collaboration with Aakash Baskaran’s Dawn Pictures, promising a solid team behind the camera.
Fans of Dhanush, Nithya Menon, and Tamil cinema in general will be eagerly awaiting this heartfelt story, which seems to capture a slice of life in a small, close-knit setting.
