Dharmendra’s Last Interview Clip Goes Viral as He Urged Fans to Watch His Final Film Ikkis

A heartfelt video from veteran actor Dharmendra’s final interviews has resurfaced online, touching fans deeply after the release of his last film Ikkis. The legendary star passed away on November 24 last year at the age of 89, just weeks before his 90th birthday, leaving the film industry and his admirers in mourning.

As Ikkis hit theatres on January 1, 2026, many fans flocked to cinema halls to watch Dharmendra’s final on-screen appearance. In a now-viral clip from one of his last interviews—recorded on entrepreneur and philanthropist Usha Kakade’s podcast—the iconic actor had made a simple, emotional request to his audience.

“Meri ek film aa rahi hai, Ikkis. Woh zaroor dekhiyega,” Dharmendra said, praising director Sriram Raghavan and describing the film as touching and impactful. He also recalled Raghavan’s earlier work Johnny Gaddaar, expressing confidence in the film’s storytelling and emotional depth.

During the same conversation, Dharmendra reflected on how cinema and society have evolved over the decades. He spoke about changing sensibilities in films, noting that modern cinema often portrays reality more directly, supported by natural performances from today’s actors.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and his sacrifice during the 1971 India–Pakistan war. Agastya Nanda plays the role of the young war hero, while Dharmendra essays the role of his father, Brigadier Madan Lal Khetarpal (Retd.). The film also marks the Bollywood debut of Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece.

With Ikkis, audiences get one final glimpse of the He-Man of Bollywood—just as he wished.
