Tamil, Telugu shows cancelled; Hindi version delayed ahead of release
March 18, 2026: Ahead of its theatrical release, Dhurandhar 2 faced last-minute disruptions as paid preview shows of its Tamil and Telugu versions were cancelled across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The cancellations were reportedly due to incomplete dubbing, forcing theatres to replace these screenings with the Hindi version. However, even the Hindi shows are expected to begin with a delay of around 30–40 minutes.
Several cinemas initiated refunds following the sudden change, with exhibitors confirming the non-availability of regional versions. Despite the disruption, distributors noted strong advance bookings for the film, indicating high audience interest. The Hindi previews are still set to go ahead, albeit with minor delays as theatres adjust schedules at short notice.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, the film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Ahead of the release, Dhar urged fans to avoid sharing spoilers, ensuring audiences can enjoy the film’s experience fresh in theatres.
