July 7, 2025: The much-anticipated first look of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar was unveiled on Sunday, coinciding with the actor’s 40th birthday celebrations. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is a spy thriller featuring a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan.

What grabbed significant attention was the glimpse of the film’s female lead — Sara Arjun, who transitions from a celebrated child actor to a lead role with this project.

Who is Sara Arjun?

Born in 2005, Sara Arjun is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun and started her acting journey at just over one year old when she was spotted by a casting director during a mall visit. She rose to prominence with her role as Vikram’s daughter in the acclaimed Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal (2011). Sara’s impressive filmography includes Ek Thi Daayan, Saivam, and Saand Ki Aankh.

Her breakthrough came in 2022 when she played young Nandini in Mani Ratnam’s epic two-part period drama Ponniyin Selvan — a blockbuster that grossed ₹800 crore worldwide. Portraying the teenage version of Aishwarya Rai’s character, Sara’s role in the film earned her a net worth of approximately ₹10 crore, making her India’s richest child actor at the time. This title has since passed to Riva Arora, following Sara’s transition to adult roles.

Sara Arjun in Dhurandhar

Reported first by Peeping Moon, Sara’s role in Dhurandhar, though relatively small in a male-centric narrative, marks her debut as a lead heroine in Hindi and Telugu cinema. The first-look teaser shows her dancing in a club, riding pillion with Ranveer Singh’s character, and sharing a dance with him, hinting at her pivotal presence in the story.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has stirred speculation that it is inspired by the life of Indian super spy and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, known for the surgical strikes. While the makers have kept plot details under wraps, the first-look footage confirms the film draws from real events.

Fans eagerly await the film, which promises a gripping narrative combining high-octane espionage with compelling character arcs.
