Did Ben Affleck Just Hint Jennifer Lopez ‘Drove Him Crazy’? Actor Opens Up Post-Divorce

Ben Affleck has opened up about his rollercoaster relationship with Jennifer Lopez, months after their much-publicized 2024 divorce. Speaking on MSNBC’s Morning Joe while promoting The Accountant 2, the Oscar-winning actor subtly referenced Lopez by saying, “The people you love the most drive you the most crazy.”

While Affleck didn’t name Lopez directly, the remark—delivered while discussing his on-screen dynamic with Jon Bernthal—was quickly interpreted as a nod to his recent real-life breakup.
Affleck and Lopez rekindled their early-2000s engagement in 2021, eventually marrying in 2022. But tensions reportedly began during the intense production of Lopez’s creative passion project, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, as highlighted in her emotional Amazon Prime documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
In it, Lopez admitted to feeling overwhelmed and guilt-ridden about neglecting personal time with Affleck.
Despite hinting at emotional challenges, Affleck wasn’t short on praise for Lopez in a recent Entertainment Tonight interview.

“For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular… great to my kids… an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to,” he said.
According to reports, Affleck’s inner circle—including Luciana Barroso, wife of longtime friend Matt Damon—has been nudging him to start dating again. Sources suggest he’s been on a few low-key dates, though nothing serious has come from them yet.
“His recovery community feels he should date someone sober, aligned with his long-term mental wellness,” an insider shared.
Affleck, who has been open about his battles with alcoholism, affirmed in the interview:
“I’m genuinely a happy person.”
He also recently revealed that his kids with Jennifer Garner often roast his film roles — calling Armageddon “stupid” — proving that life post-Hollywood romance remains grounded in real-world parenting.
