July 3, 2025: Veteran actor and director Rob Reiner is giving credit where it’s due—to Jamie Lee Curtis, who persuaded him to join the acclaimed FX series The Bear.

Reiner, 78, appears in three episodes of the show’s fourth season as Albert Schnur, a role he almost passed up—until Curtis stepped in.“I said, ‘I don’t know,’ and she said, ‘No, you’ve got to do it! It’s really fun!’” Reiner shared, according to People magazine.

The two share a long-standing friendship, having played exes Bob and Joan on New Girl. Their bond—on and off-screen—played a key role in his decision.
Reiner praised The Bear creator Christopher Storer for crafting “such a great mood” on set and called acting a “no-worry” experience compared to directing.“It’s fun to act… You just show up and do your work,” he said.
jamie lee Curtis, who is married to Reiner’s This Is Spinal Tap co-star Christopher Guest, earned an Emmy in 2024 for her portrayal of Donna Berzatto on The Bear. In her acceptance speech, she celebrated the show’s message of healing and support.
Looks like her behind-the-scenes encouragement is just as impactful as her onscreen presence.
