Did Liam Gallagher Just Risk the Oasis Reunion?

July 4, 2025: Just days before the much-anticipated Oasis reunion tour, singer Liam Gallagher has found himself at the center of controversy for using a racial slur in a now-deleted social media post.

The former Oasis frontman posted an apology on X (formerly Twitter) after backlash erupted over his earlier post, which contained language mocking East Asian communities. “Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before — it wasn’t intentional. You know I love you all and I do not discriminate. Peace and love. LG x,” he wrote.

Screenshots of the deleted post circulated quickly. When a user pointed out the term was racist, Gallagher initially dismissed the comment, replying “Why,” and later “Behave,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The incident comes at a sensitive time, as the Oasis reunion tour — their first in 15 years — kicks off in Wales tomorrow. The tour, announced last September, spans the U.K., U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and is accompanied by a concert film directed by Steven Knight.

Despite long-standing tension between the Gallagher brothers, the reunion is being hailed as one of the biggest comebacks in rock history. After two shows in Wales, the band will perform 10 shows in England, three in Scotland, two in Ireland, and begin their North American leg in Toronto on August 24.

As the spotlight intensifies, fans are hoping the music — not the controversy — takes center stage.
