Did Rachel Brosnahan Just Witness Real Movie Magic on the Superman Set?

July 3, 2025: Actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot, recently shared a heartwarming moment from the set that left her misty-eyed—quite literally.

Speaking to People at the London premiere of Superman at Cineworld Leicester Square, Brosnahan recalled a scene she filmed with Edi Gathegi (Mr. Terrific). The two were shooting a VFX-heavy moment with a reflective ball when something unexpected happened.“Edi grabbed my arm and gasped, and I thought something had gone wrong,” she said.
“But then he turned to me, misty-eyed, and said, ‘I just saw us in the movie.’”

That one moment, she added, reminded her of why she fell in love with movies as a child.“It was one of those moments where, no matter how long the days are, you feel the magic again.”

She also spoke about preparing for the film with her Superman co-star David Corenswet, who plays both Superman and Clark Kent.“We had a few meals together before filming started,” she said, laughing as she added, “David was eating about five meals for every one of mine.”Brosnahan credited writer-director James Gunn for helping build a creative and collaborative atmosphere.

The highly anticipated film is part of the rebooted DC Universe, headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The film features an ensemble cast including Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, and others like Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Wendell Pierce.

Superman soars into theatres on Friday, July 11.
