July 08, 2025: Shannon Price, the ex-wife of late actor Gary Coleman, has failed a polygraph test regarding his 2010 death, raising fresh controversy in the A&E series Lie Detector: Truth or Deception, Parade reported.

Price, who was married to the Diff’rent Strokes star from August 2007 until their divorce in 2008, continued to live with Coleman until his death. Coleman passed away at the age of 42 in May 2010 due to an intracranial hemorrhage following a fall down the stairs at their Utah home. Although his death was ruled accidental, Price’s actions surrounding the incident have long drawn public scrutiny.

In a dramatic segment filmed on January 14, Price underwent a lie-detector test administered by former FBI agent George Olivo. During the session, she was questioned about several aspects of Coleman’s fatal fall and her role in the aftermath.

Key Questions & Test Results:

  1. Did you ever strike Coleman during the relationship?
    — Price answered “No.” The result: Inconclusive.
  2. Did you intentionally withhold help from Coleman?
    — She again denied the accusation. The result: Inconclusive.
    — However, Price later admitted, “I could have helped him a little bit more.”
  3. Did you physically cause Gary’s fall?
    — Price said “No.” The result: Deception Indicated.
    — Olivo concluded, “You failed that exam regarding the fall.”

Despite the outcome, Price stated she was “not surprised” by the findings, expressing skepticism about the reliability of the polygraph machine.

Context & Controversy:

Coleman was placed in a medically induced coma after his fall and was later taken off life support by Price—a decision that sparked legal debate since the two were no longer married. A past 911 call recording also showed Price refusing to follow emergency operator instructions to help him.

Although she was never charged in connection with Coleman’s death, the polygraph results are likely to reignite public interest and speculation.
