May 20, 2025: Speculation is swirling around Shraddha Kapoor’s reported exit from Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve’s upcoming thriller, produced by Ekta Kapoor. Several media reports claimed that the actress walked away from the project after the makers declined to meet her demand of ₹17 crore as remuneration, along with a share in the film’s profits.

According to a report, Shraddha’s high fee became a point of contention between her and the producers, allegedly prompting her departure from the film. The report further stated that the makers have now begun approaching other actors for the lead role.
However, director Rahi Anil Barve has addressed the growing rumours. Without confirming or denying Shraddha Kapoor’s involvement or exit, Barve urged fans not to believe unverified information circulating online. In a social media statement shared on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“Please don’t believe any of the rumours currently floating all over the media. We’ll be making an official announcement at the right time. Thank you.”
The filmmaker emphasized that details about the film and its cast would be revealed formally when the time is right. As of now, neither Shraddha Kapoor nor the producers have made any official comment on the reports of her alleged departure.
The thriller project is one of the most anticipated collaborations given Barve’s critically acclaimed debut with Tumbbad. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see who ultimately headlines the film — and whether Kapoor’s supposed exit is fact or fiction.
