Photos show the pop star clubbing in Las Vegas with Sean “Diddy” Combs and Paris Hilton the night before her heavily critiqued stage comeback.

May 26, 2026: Britney Spears’ 2007 MTV Video Music Awards performance went down in history for all the wrong reasons, and newly resurfaced photos reveal what she was up to the night before. Spears, 43, was spotted partying in Las Vegas with none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs, Paris Hilton, and 50 Cent just hours ahead of her widely criticized VMAs comeback performance.

On September 7, 2007, Spears and Combs were photographed together at Jet Nightclub inside The Mirage Hotel and Casino.

The group later made their way to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to join 50 Cent’s party, along with Paris Hilton and music producer Dallas Austin. The night reportedly continued into the early hours of September 8.

The photos have resurfaced amid the ongoing sex-trafficking trial of Combs, where singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura name-dropped Spears while testifying about the wild night.

“Sean was there, and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears,” she recalled in court on May 15.

Spears took the stage at the 2007 MTV VMAs on September 9 to perform “Gimme More,” but fans and critics alike panned her lethargic dance moves and poor lip-syncing. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears admitted she was completely exhausted that night. “There was a problem with my costume and with my hair extensions. I hadn’t slept the night before. I was dizzy,” she wrote.

Adding to the drama, Spears ran into her ex, Justin Timberlake, backstage before the performance. “It had been a while since I’d seen him,” she wrote. “I couldn’t believe I was going to have to go out onstage feeling the way I felt.”

At the time, Spears was also facing intense public scrutiny following her divorce from Kevin Federline and her infamous head-shaving incident earlier that year.

The photos have since reignited debate about the challenges the pop icon faced in the spotlight.
