In the glamorous world of Mumbai real estate, a curious “musical chairs” of names connects the palatial residences of Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and the Bachchans.

While fans across the globe recognize Mannat as the iconic sea-facing heritage bungalow of King Khan, few realize that until very recently, Hrithik Roshan also shared this prestigious address—at least in name. Before the pandemic, the “Greek God” of Bollywood acquired a massive 38,000-square-foot sky-villa across the 14th, 15th, and 16th floors of a pristine-white building on the Juhu-Versova Link Road.

In a happy coincidence, the building was originally named Mannat, though Hrithik has since reportedly requested it be renamed Vartamaan.

The branding of these celebrity landmarks often involves a mix of superstition, Vastu Shastra, and personal belief. Industry lore recalls how Shah Rukh Khan’s Bandra abode was initially destined to be named Jannat before he settled on the now-legendary Mannat. A similar trend was observed at the Bachchan household; the sprawling Jalsa in Juhu was originally called Mansa. Whether these changes were driven by a quest for better fortune or simple preference, the result has been the creation of tourist landmarks that are etched into the map of Mumbai.

As of Friday, April 10, 2026, Shah Rukh Khan continues to operate from his Pali Hill temporary residence while the massive annexe behind the Mannat bungalow undergoes a multi-year renovation to become even more imposing. Meanwhile, Hrithik’s Vartamaan has become a hub for cinematic brilliance, with visionary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali also moving into the floors just below the superstar. Despite the name changes, these homes remain high-value assets in India’s most expensive real estate markets, often fetching “sky-high” valuations that match the status of their owners.
