Diddy’s Prison Costume From 2001 Movie Monster’s Ball Up For Auction Amid Criminal Trial

The iconic costume worn by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in the 2001 film starring Halle Berry is set to go under the hammer next week, even as the rapper faces a high-profile criminal trial.

June 1, 2025: Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison costume from the 2001 film Monster’s Ball is going up for auction next week, in a move that has already sparked headlines given the rapper’s current legal troubles.

In the acclaimed film, Diddy portrayed Lawrence Musgrove, a convicted murderer who shares emotional final moments with his wife Leticia (played by Halle Berry) before his execution. The ensemble, as described by the auction house, includes a short-sleeved white Hanes crew neck t-shirt, a light grey crew neck sweatshirt with cut-off sleeves, a pair of Faded Glory blue jeans, and black canvas slip-on shoes.

The costume was worn during the beginning and middle parts of the film, including key scenes where Musgrove meets with his wife and son.

Ongoing Trial & Presidential Interest
The auction announcement comes at a tense time for Diddy, who is currently facing a criminal trial on five felony counts, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. If convicted, the 54-year-old music mogul faces life in prison.

In a surprising twist, US President Donald Trump hinted at a possible pardon for Diddy during a White House press conference on Friday. “I would certainly look at the facts before making a decision,” Trump said, acknowledging the widespread media coverage but adding that he hadn’t been following the case closely.

Trump also remarked on his past rapport with Diddy: “He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics… that relationship busted up. I don’t know — he didn’t tell me that, but I’d read some little bit nasty statements,” he said.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
